When was the last time you used yoga to challenge your balance? When it comes to balancing on your yoga mat, you’ve probably gotten pretty good at tree pose. You’ve worked at mastering the art of balancing on one leg, with your other leg bent and trying to hold still and not fall over.
What happens when the foundation shifts? What happens when you move from one pose to another? What happens when the surface you’re standing on is no longer firm and instead is soft, squishy, or unpredictable?
That’s what I help you answer in my quick “Yoga to Challenge Your Balance” practice.
You’ll need a yoga mat, a blanket, and a bolster.
If you don’t have a yoga mat, the floor will do just fine.
If you don’t have a yoga blanket, use a towel or a thick blanket you’d sleep with.
If you don’t have a bolster, use a pillow or a couch cushion.
Expect to explore instability in order to better understand balance from the inside out.
And expect to have a lot of fun while doing it.
